Dr. Morgan Gray is a recent graduate from FIU’s History PhD program who specializes in law, gender, and emotions in colonial Latin America. Her dissertation, “Beyond Honor: Historicizing Sexual Coercion in Late Colonial Lima, 1750-1821” examines the interactions between the lived experiences of coerced women and the legal and cultural systems with which they were involved. In addition to her years assisting for and teaching history courses, Dr. Gray has two years of writing instruction experience with the first-year English composition courses (ENC 1101 and 1102). Her current responsibilities include training and supervising the History Writing Tutors.
