I arrived in the Atlantic History program from Colombia. My main research interests are resistance and rebellion in the Colombian Caribbean during the eighteenth century. I am interested in the histories of Afro-Colombian women and their role in shaping the palenque communities, as well as their acts of rebellion against slavery and their participation in the wars of independence.
