Jairo Ledesma

Bio

I am studying social and urban history under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Lipartito. My dissertation topic will focus on school desegregation in South Miami Dade County. I am currently a tenured track Instructor of sociology and history at Miami Dade College. In 2020, I completed a Carnegie Mellon Humanities Edge Faculty Fellowship and was recognized by the MDC Homestead campus as Service Faculty of the Year. I hold a Bachelor of Science in communications and a Master of Arts in sociology from St. John’s University as well as a Master of Arts in History from FIU.
