Bio

I am a doctoral student from Germany studying the intersectionality of gender and race. I received my Master’s degree in American History, Culture, and Society from the University of Munich. In particular, I am interested in the racial origins of beauty and body aesthetics as well as the concurrent medical discourse of obesity. The main objective of my research is to explore how the body is used to reinforce racist, sexist and classist norms throughout history.
