Bio

Busuyi is a historian of modern Africa whose research focuses on Nigeria. His research looks into the intersections of public health and Medicine, incarceration, and African History. In summary, the research aims to examine how colonial government, carceral agents such as penal regimes, dietary regimes, solitary confinement, labor, and penal welfare produced the health of inmates in 20th-century Nigeria. At the same time, it also examines the nature of carceral medicine that existed during the time period.
