I research gender and the Spanish Civil War and exile, with teaching experience in the history of gender and sexuality across the Atlantic. Directed by Dr. Bianca Premo and Dr. Aurora Morcillo, my dissertation, “The Nomad Selves: The American Women of the Spanish Civil War and Exile,” employs feminist theory and a transnational lens to write the biographies of Jewish American women and their experience during the Spanish Civil War and how the conflict informed their lives and creative works in the Cold War era. Recently, I received the Tinker Research Grant in Latin American Studies to complete research in Mexico City and Salamanca.
