Dr. Hilary Jones receives prestigious Fellowships

The Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Emancipation and Resistance at Yale University has awarded Dr. Jones a one-month residency for October 1-31, 2019 to assist her research into the illegal slave trade between Senegal and the Caribbean.

Additionally, Dr. Jones has been chosen to receive the Council of American Overseas Research Center's National Endowment for the Humanities Senior Research Fellowship to conduct field research in Senegal, West Africa for her book manuscript. From January 1 to April 30, Dr. Jones will be affiliated with the West African Research Center in Dakar, Senegal which is the only American Overseas Research Center in sub-Saharan Africa.
