Dr. Jenna Gibbs awarded the Binational Tandem Research Fellowship in Global &Trans-Regional History

Dr. Jenna Gibbs has just been awarded the Binational Tandem Research Fellowship in Global and Trans-Regional History at the German Historical Institute in Washington D.C. during academic year 2018-2019. This fellowship will allow Dr. Gibbs to complete and submit a draft of her second monograph-in-progress, The Global Latrobe Family: Evangelicalism, Slavery, and Empire, 1750s-1850s, which is under contract with Johns Hopkins University Press. The fellowship will also fund Dr. Gibbs and her research partner, Dr. Sünne Juterczenka of Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, in the organization of a two-day international conference titled “Maritime Missions: Religion, Ethnography and Empires in the Long Eighteenth Century” bringing together scholars from Germany, the U.S., Australia, and elsewhere.
