Dr. Aurora Morcillo interviewed by El Nuevo Herald

Dr. Morcillo moved to the US in 1989 and made a professional successful career. She is proud to be a professor at FIU where there is a very large Hispanic and minority population that, in some cases, come from humble working class beginnings and have a thirst for knowledge and for self improvement. In the article she comments on how Hispanic/ Latina women are not getting a fair share of the pie. They are stereotyped as submissive and lacking ambition and are always passed over when leadership opportunities appear in favor of their male Hispanic peers, even when there is now a long history of women presidents of republics in Latin America and not yet neither in Spain or the US.
